2021 Art & Poetry Challenge
An annual event hosted by the Racial Unity Team. Up to $2,000 in prize money will be awarded to winners in elementary, middle school, high school and adult categories of both art and poetry.
Submit a poem, or art work, including 3-D submissions.

"Peace and Tranquility" at The Fells Main Floor Gallery
In these past months many artists have found peace and tranquility painting in their studios or out in the landscape. This show features selected artists who will share their work and experiences over the past 14 months creating art that reflects the peace and tranquility that they sought. Exhibit runs through October 11.
Art Cafe´ and Walt Whitman, The Fells
The Second Floor Gallery features the artists from the Art Café and their work inspired by Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass. These paintings, sculptures and collages are individual creations, by members of the Art Cafe, reflecting a line taken from this noted collection. Exhibit runs through October 11.
Art in Nature 2021 Sculpture Exhibit at The Fells
A contemporary exhibit of some of the finest New England Sculptors set on the beautiful grounds of The Fells. Each piece is sensitively sited to seamlessly integrate that which is human created into the surrounding landscape. Exhibit runs through October 11.
Tomie dePaola Exhibit at the Currier Museum of Art
Tomie dePaola (1934–2020) wrote and illustrated some 270 children’s books over his 50-year career, including picture books, folk tales, nursery rhymes, and chapter books. A longtime resident of New Hampshire, he has received numerous awards and accolades.
The Currier Museum of Art’s collection holds more than 100 works by Tomie dePaola. This exhibition celebrates the artist’s life and legacy through a selection of these illustrations.

A new exhibition, The Body in Art: From the Spiritual to the Erotic, will explore the creative ways artists through the ages have used the human body as a means of expression.

Online Writing Classes
Megan Baxter will be offering three writing classes/lessons - Writing the College Essay; Creative Writing Lessons for Ages 12-18; and Nonfiction Writing Workshop. Megan has won national awards in nonfiction and poetry. She has an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and a BFA in Poetry. For more info visit or to sign up email
Weekly Online Watercolor Classes at 10am
Each week is a stand-alone lesson, so sign up for one session or plan on attending each week to build your skills. The lessons will help beginners learn the basics, while engaging intermediate painters in ways that will develop their skills. Instructor Becky Bense has created a warm and welcoming class environment where all her students feel encouraged. $10 per session, or $35 for a four-class pass.
