"Transforming the lives of individuals with special needs through compassionate therapeutic equestrian experiences."

|
You may have noticed you have not received a LoveWay newsletter in awhile. That is because we decided to make the newsletter quarterly instead of monthly. Our hope is the newsletter will now be more impactful, contain even more great info, more pictures and stories, and that our supporters will be even more excited to receive it! We hope you all agree!

New School, New Riders, New Victories!
|
We are pleased to say that Brookside Elementary School began attending LoveWay for the first time this semester!
A Brookside student who attends on Thursday mornings, was terrified for the first few weeks of class. Sadly, he could only make it around the arena one time before the fear was so overwhelming that he could not go on any longer. He was so afraid of falling and of heights, that as soon as he would sit in the saddle, he would ask if he was going to fall. He would continue to ask this repeatedly until he dismounted.
Now the phrase throughout the entire 40-minute lesson is, “I’m not going anywhere!” We have seen so much growth in this rider! He is confident and now cannot wait to ride Kayla. With the help of his amazing volunteer team he has faced his fear of heights and falling, and has even learned to trust his volunteers and horse. We are beyond pleased to say, he is now working on his core strength and direct reining!

Sydney grew up in southern Indiana, in a town called Stilesville. Growing up and still to this day, she has had a passion for animals and recently within the last 5 years, has found a deep passion for horses. She has been an athlete all of her life and basketball is what earned her a scholarship to Goshen College, where she is currently enrolled. Sydney plans to graduate in April with a degree in Exercise Science and hopes to continue the long road of schooling to become a veterinarian. Sydney says “Becoming a vet has been a dream of mine but I never thought I could achieve it. I thank God for giving me the ability to do all the things I can with and in his gracious spirit. Finding LoveWay has been a dream, This is only a start and I’m excited to be a part of this team!”

We Say Goodbye to a Great
|
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Copper. Copper was LoveWay's go to horse; he was steady, level-headed, kind and handsome. He was an amazing asset to LoveWay and a favorite of many. Copper was the kind of horse that doesn't come around very often. There was not a dry eye at LoveWay today as we had to say goodbye to our friend. We pray Copper is now galloping through the fields of heaven.
