Rachel Carvalho

Medical Social Worker

This month, we celebrate National Social Worker Month, and we are proud to highlight Rachel, one of our dedicated hospice social workers. In addition to being a source of referrals for vital resources, Rachel truly values her role as support for the patients and families we care for.

“As a hospice social worker, I feel honored to walk alongside patients and families during one of the most meaningful and vulnerable times in life. Whether I am sitting with someone living with dementia, simply holding their hand and offering comfort, or supporting someone who is fully aware of their illness as they process grief and uncertainty, I strive to meet each person with compassion and dignity. I feel privileged to help individuals facing terminal illness navigate their emotional journey while also supporting their loved ones through anticipatory grief and loss. Although the work can be challenging, it is deeply meaningful and rewarding to provide presence, understanding, and hope during some of life’s most difficult moments.”
