THANKSGIVING DISTRIBUTION
Thanks to all of you, our Thanksgiving distribution of turkeys, vegetables, and groceries, was a huge success. Over 240 families were served, and many groups and individuals came together to complete this mission of love. Thank you to Faith Bible Church of New Hyde Park, Edge City Church of Mineola, Legacy Center, The Bridge Church of Malverne, Garden City Service League of Boys, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, St. Gregorios Orthodox Church of India Queens, LIJ Cardiology Team, and St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Levittown who all conducted food drives. Thank you to Aron Yagoda, horse owner, NYTHA Board Member, and Executive VP of Streit's for his very generous donations of matzo and other baked goods and for volunteering with his family. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped to pack and distribute the food over the course of 2 days in the Belmont clubhouse, and to all of you who sent in financial contributions to cover our costs including our sponsors NYTHA and NYRA. We appreciate each and every one of you and all of your efforts yielded a bountiful feast. Thank you!
THANK YOU, BREEDERS' CUP
The Breeders' Cup generously gifted to the NY Chaplaincy hundreds of their great face masks, which we distributed to the backstretch community at a recent food pantry distribution. The masks are well designed for those who work outdoors in a difficult environment and are much appreciated by those we serve. Thank you to our State Senator, Anna Kaplan, who pitched in to distribute food and the masks.

TEEN MENTORING
We extend a very special thanks to The Adventure Park at Long Island for opening recently ONLY for our teen girls, when they were otherwise closed to the public. The teens stayed for hours, with the entire park to themselves and had a much-needed escape from the stress of the past several months.
YOUTH RECREATION
We took advantage of the milder weather by extending outdoor recreational activities for our youth until the end of November. The families are very appreciative of this time of healthy activity for our youth.
BACKSTRETCH SHOPPING TRIPS
Transportation is a challenge for those who live on the track, and our Programs Director Nick Caras has been alleviating this concern for many as he brings members of the backstretch community back and forth to the mall so that they may do some Christmas shopping.
WOMEN'S CRAFTS AND KIDS CRAFT CORNER
Our dedicated group of ladies and their children recently enjoyed an evening of creating a beautiful Fall craft.
THANK YOU, LITTLE SAINTS PRE-SCHOOL

Annually the children and families of Little Saints Preschool of West Hempstead conduct a food drive, and this year, we are very grateful to have been blessed with the food that was collected. Thank you, Little Saints, for your kind generosity!
CHRISTMAS

WOW, we have almost reached our goal of sponsoring every single backstretch family who requests assistance at Christmas!

That is an incredible accomplishment, made possible by your donations, shopping, and wrapping.

Thank you to every single person who made this possible. Thank you to the Ridgewood Youth Council for their devotion to the backstretch, for their gifts and sponsorships, and to the families of Regis High School for their long-term dedication to the Sponsor a Family program. We extend a big thanks to the incredible network of the partners of West Point Thoroughbreds, who, organized by Debbie Finley, always come through when we need them, and extend particular thanks to West Point connections the Conley Family of Trinity Thoroughbreds and Cheryl Manning whose support went a long way toward our coming close to our goal.

Thank you to the Williams Family and the family of Kathy DePietro for honoring the memory of their loved ones by sponsoring a family.

There are still a few days left to participate in this program. All of the information may be found, and donations may be made, via THIS LINK. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
SOUP'S ON!
Soup is a very popular item in our food pantry at this time of the year, as it is comforting when the weather turns cooler, and is easily prepared in the microwave for those who live on the track and do not have access to a stove. Thank you to our friends at Rainbow's End Racing Stable who are loyal supporters of our food pantry and have been known to drop off soup just when the supplies are running low.

Soup or any nonperishables may be dropped off at our trailer at Gate 6 at Belmont Park Monday -Friday between 10 - 4, or donations to the food pantry may be made via this LINK. Any questions please call the office at 516-216-5196.

Thank you!
Thank you to NYRA for naming one race per meet after The NY Chaplaincy, which allows us to honor the groom and hotwalker of the winning horse of that race. At the conclusion of the race, the people who take care of the horses behind the scenes have the opportunity to enjoy the spotlight in the winner's circle. On the first day of the Aqueduct meet, the winning trainer of the NY Chaplaincy race was our dear friend and supporter David Donk, which made the celebration even more special. Pictured above, Karissa Natale of NYRA, Will Alempijevic of NYTHA, winning jockey Eric Cancel, and Eleanor Poppe of NYRTCA joined with Chaplain Humberto to congratulate the winning groom, Ceasar Ramirez, and winning hotwalker Johnathan Estrada (not pictured).
MAMMOGRAPY VAN
Thank you to our NY State Assemlywoman Michaelle Solages for arranging for a mammography van to come directly on the grounds of Belmont Park recently, making it possible for the women of the backstretch to safely and conveniently schedule a mammography. Pictured above 2nd left is Assemlywoman Solages along with NYRTCA outreach coordinator Alejandra Zamorano, left, and General Manager Karen Chavez, right.
CALLING ALL BAKERS

As a way of lifting spirits and sharing God's love during the cooler months, the NY Chaplaincy staff and volunteers are distributing home-baked goods to each barn in the coming weeks. We are seeking volunteers to bake and wrap cookies, muffins, or brownies, For more information please email Nick Caras. Thank you!
