Online Center Highlights Resources
Looking for resources to help people in Hampton Roads? Or, does your organization have resources to share? Either way, be sure to check out
Resources757.org.
The website features details and links to about 400 Hampton Roads helpful services -- up from the 70 resources it started with in December 2019 in pre-coronavirus days.
On the site you will find COVID-19 relief information plus 18 major categories that address areas ranging from early childhood and maternity services to homelessness, mental health care, senior services and veterans issues. Online information easily translates from English into 11 different languages.
Resources757.org was developed over two years by a coalition led by EVMS Minus 9 to 5 -- a regional initiative incubated at the Hampton Roads Community Foundation and now affiliated with Eastern Virginia Medical School. Minus 9 to 5 pulled together service providers and organizations from around the region to help design a user-friendly central hub. Resources757.org is free and can help nonprofits guide clients to needed services. It also can link individuals and families with resources they can use.
The clearinghouse is operated by ForKids, Inc. as an extension of the regional Housing Crisis Hotline it administers. Staff members continually update the website and work with community organizations to keep Resources757.org current.
