SEPTEMBER 2022 HAPPENINGS!

The first Monday in September is celebrated nationally as Labor Day.

The Labor Day holiday grew out of the late 19th century organized labor movement, and it quickly became a national holiday as the labor movement assumed a prominent role in American society.

Senior Care Calls Launch

Sunday, September 11th

WUCN volunteers make calls to the elderly on the second and fourth Sunday of every month. These calls reduce isolation, encourage, motivate, and serve as a checkup for the physical, mental, and emotional well being of elderly women ages 65 and older.

If you have the name and contact information of a senior female who needs a care call or YOU would like to volunteer on the Senior Care Calls Team, please contact Connie Paulk at (205) 915-1259
