Partnering for safe and healthy communities.
We have been blown away by the generosity of supporters like you throughout the past few months! Check out the many ways you have helped:

  • Home Depot: Thank you to Home Depot in Tiffany Springs for donating two new grills and grilling accessories. We cannot wait to use these on our residential campuses this summer!
  • Plant Sale: This year, 439 gardeners shopped online, raising $28,270 for our Build Trybe program! These funds will help youth heal from trauma while learning horticulture, culinary and construction skills.
  • Protective Masks: Countless individuals from several communities came together to provide more than 2,100 hand-made and store bought masks to keep our team members safe while working in the community.
  • Foster Kids KC: On May 28, Foster Kids KC delivered several cartloads of essential items like clothing, safety equipment, carseats and games!
  • Carry-Out Meals: Throughout COVID-19, generous supporters like you participated in our Carry-Out Campaign and provided over 2,100 meals to youth on our residential campuses.
  • Amazon Smile Wish List: During our #GivingTuesdayNow campaign, and the weeks that followed, we received 127 games and activities for our youth!
  • KCMO Angels: 10 Foster Families throughout Missouri received Love Boxes from KCMO Angels, filled with fun activities and household essentials!

A Hard-Won Tenacity:
The Andersons’ Story

Annie and Eric Anderson began their foster parent journey 13 years ago, and since, then they have made a huge impact on the lives of many children. Their story is one of love, heartbreak, growth and strength. They show us how even the smallest of actions can make a huge difference in someones life.

It's National Safety Month!

When we are able to take care of ourselves and manage our own emotions and stress, we are able to more effectively and lovingly care for those who rely on us. Here are some self-care tips you can use to alleviate stress:
  • Spend time outside or go for a walk;
  • Think of a peaceful place or meditate;
  • Shake, move your body or dance;
  • Sleep — relax your body and mind; or
  • Talk it out.

Remember, before you can care for someone else, you have to take care of yourself. Make it a priority.
School Supply Drive

Whether heading to kindergarten or starting community college, the youth in our care are gearing up for the 2020-2021 school year. These youth may be attending a new school after being placed in a foster home, attending one of our therapeutic schools to address their trauma, or may be pursuing post-secondary education after aging out of foster care. A backpack filled with new school supplies can help set these students up for success.

We hope you will consider donating school supplies to help make this school year the best yet for even more children.
