Third Annual Kayitz Classic
August 2013

We were thrilled to once again partner with Moshava Ba'ir and The Frisch School to bring you the Third Annual Kayitz Classic. All proceeds from this three-on-three basketball tournament go toward Areyvut's own Mitzvah Clowning program and Moshava Ba'ir's scholarship fund.

Day of Chesed @ JCC of Mid- Westchester
September 2013

Areyvut was pleased to be part of the JCC of Mid-Westchester's Day of Chesed, Service, and Remembrance in honor of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance. We were thrilled to be able to set up a booth and help kids make sukkah decorations for the Hebrew Home at Riverdale!

September 2013

Areyvut's Annual Erev Yom Kippur Chesed Program took place on September 13th in conjunction with the Teaneck Jewish Center. Kids were given the chance to create chesed projects for those most in need...all on the day before Yom Kippur! Projects included: making friendship bracelets for Shaare Zedek, writing letters to soldiers in Israel for Friends of the IDF, coloring challah covers, decorating mezuzot for Amit, sewing sukkah decorations for Jewish Home at Rockleigh, and creating bookmarks for Bergen Reads!

Music & Morals
Fall 2013

In conjunction with the Westchester Jewish Teen Learning Intiative, we just began our new Music & Morals class, and it is off to a great start! Teens are coming together to discuss how Jewish values fit in with today's popular music. Does what we listen to affect how we think? Can music really change our opinions? In today's world of radio, iPods, and music videos, our students are talking about how they understand pop culture in relation to their Jewish values.
Who We Are
Areyvut's mission is to infuse the lives of Jewish youth with the core Jewish values of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity), and tikkun olam (social action). We offer Jewish day schools congregational schools, synagogues, community centers, and individual families with a variety of opportunities to empower and enrich their youth by making these values real and meaningful to them.
