This coming week we celebrate Valentine's Day. I have already seen flowers on desks that were sent by a significant other. Love is in the air. Breathe it in. Breathe it out for others to feel loved.
This makes for a great week to bring closure to our Love Wins series. Not only have I been working on the message for this weekend, we have also put together a beautiful brochure that we have titled, The Barometric Pressure of Love. I know that's not the most romantic title. But love is so much more than just romance.
This brochure guides you through a practice that helps you see how God's unconditional love for you is the starting place to bring loving change into the climate of all your relationships, whether they be low or high. You will use this tool often as you continue to grow in all your relationships. We will experience the practice live in worship.
I hope you can be present on Sunday to receive this guided practice. Even though we are bringing closure to the series, this resource will help all of us keep love alive in our hearts and in our relationships. Isn't that how love really wins?
Here are two more important invitations:
- This Sunday is our next TREK to Transformation gathering. I want to personally invite you join with me to enjoy homemade chicken vegetable soup or vegetable soup, delicious brownies for dessert, fellowship and fun. I will be doing a pivotal teaching on how we see and use the Bible in our everyday lives. This teaching is foundational to how we see ourselves sharing the Good News of Jesus with one another and the community. Nursery care is provided and there will be a Bible based fun SERVE activity for the children to do during the teaching time. I hope you will sign up here.
- On Sunday the 17th, after grabbing coffee or tea and a bagel, you are invited to come back into the sanctuary to learn more about what is being presented to the General Conference of the United Methodist Church, meeting in St. Louis February 23-26. This is a Special Session called to address our way forward in matters pertaining to sexuality. Before all the news hits the media, I want to share with you what is happening. I encourage you to mark your calendar now so you can be part of this important conversation.
Every week I look forward to being with you.
See you soon,
