Sunday is coming and the USA Women's Soccer Team is hoping to repeat another World Cup victory. And if you choose to be with your Crossroads family on Sunday, you will still be home in time to watch and cheer for team USA. There will even be enough time for you to linger a few minutes longer to connect with others, serve by writing a blessing to a student going to The Pittsburgh Project, share a few stories, meet a new friend or two, while sipping a refreshing cup of lemonade before going home to get your game face on.

This Sunday we're going to talk about the two most important words in the English language, "Thank you". Meister Eckhart said, If the only prayer you ever pray in your entire life is thank you, that will be enough.” You will leave with tangible resources to help you live that prayer every day next week. Our children and students will also be talking about the importance of saying, "Thank you".

As children, "Thank you" were some of the first words we were taught to say. Now we know the more we say them, the more we see and experience gratitude being the one thing that changes everything.

I am grateful to share a part of Sunday with you and then, like you, cheer team USA on to victory. But right now is all we have; this is the day God has given to us to rejoice and be grateful in this moment. Gratitude is the one thing that changes everything.

Here are two really great and important gatherings coming up:

Calling all families with preschool and/or elementary children. July 13th, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm is our quarterly Family Love in Action Retreat at our house, Blueridge Summit Retreat. You don't want to miss the t adpole pond, God's Treasure Walk, Campfire and S'mores. You can sign up here.

Four times a year we gather for a lunch, great conversation around tables of 6-8 people, a brief interactive teaching, and just a lot of laughter and fun. We call these times TREK Leadership Gathering.

This is not a gathering for the "leadership" of Crossroads. This is a gathering for you because you are a leader. Everyone is a leader in one way or another and these gatherings help us to be better leaders at home, at work, at school or wherever we are. Everyone is a leader so this gathering is for everyone.

Our children will have their special time of sharing a meal, learning and having fun as well. Yes, our children are leaders too. Jesus confirmed this fact. Following the lead of Jesus, the theme this time is, Service as a Lifestyle. We will meet from 11:30 - 1:30. You will be blessed by being there. You will bless someone else by being there. The date is July 21st right after our Sunday gatherings. Register here .

It's vacation time! I am thankful for vacations. Yet the truth is while you and I are away this summer the needs in our community don't go away. People still need the love, welcome and hope of Jesus that Crossroads shares with all.

There is a really simple way to keep God's love alive - online giving. It is easy, safe and a great way to say thank you to God for the resources we have to help those who have needs.

Cathy and I have been giving online for more than 10 years and never once have we had a problem. But more importantly twice a month we feel blessed to know our financial contributions are helping to bless and help others. I hope you will join us and sign up here .

As always, I am really excited to be with you this Sunday to continue our 30-day Gratitude experience. If you can't be with us on Sunday, then maybe you can join us online. And for sure sign up for the daily gratitude texts. Think of someone to invite to come along with you.

Let's never stop growing in our love for God, others and ourselves. It's our most important work.

See you soon,
