Denver’s premier HIV agency focusing on outreach to the African American community honored the Center for Health and Hope and Dr. Don Messer at their 20^th Anniversary Dinner. Messer was presented the Community Impact Award by Ms. Imani Latif. Describing their organization as a “Black-run and woman-run organization,” Latif heralded Messer as “her hero” for work in Africa, Asia, and USA.

Who Will Build The 10^th Home in Kenya?

The Center hopes in 2022 to build ten homes for homeless AIDS orphans and their desperate grandmothers in Maua, Kenya. Donors have now paid for nine of them; they are either built or under construction.  Who will provide the 10^th?  

Over $52,000 Raised in August Swinging@AIDS Benefit

Amazing support from so many persons resulted in a net of over $52,000 from the 16^thAnnual golf benefit in Denver.  Thank you! Plans are underway for 2023 with Bruce Berger as Chair & Bill Graf as his associate. Ruth Ann Russell will lead the Silent Auction.

$3,000 Sent To Combat Period Poverty

Girls and young women suffer from “period poverty” as lack of sanitary supplies keep them from school and leads to sexual exploitation.  Thanks to gifts of $25 per person, a young woman receives sanitary supplies for a year along with two pairs of underwear. Thanks to the leadership of Clietta Terry, $3,000 has recently been sent to Kenya, with more contributions and distributions planned.
