Arts Council of Greater Lansing is accepting applications for our Young Creatives: Artists in Residence Program.  Chosen artists will be placed on a web-based  Artist Roster , which classroom teachers can use to find a teaching artist that meets their classroom and student needs. Currently the program serves Lansing School District classrooms. Teaching Artists must be professional artists with expertise in one or more arts disciplines who have previously worked with children and teachers in educational settings.  Get more information and apply today!

Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities

The GFWC Swartz Creek Women's Club  is accepting applications for their annual Art and Craft Fair held on Oct. 19, 2019. All artists are welcomed to enter this juried show. Booths are priced at $55. Request an application via

The City Pulse  and the Arts Council of Greater Lansing are offering their 
Summer of Art Series  once again! Apply to have your artwork featured on a City Pulse cover through Aug. 28. All media encouraged to apply. Open to a nyone who lives in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. Deadline for submissions is Aug. 15.

Arts Council of Greater Lansing continues its education series with its smARTS Workshop: "Responding to the Call for Individual Artists" on Aug. 7 from 6-8 p.m. This panel discussion will feature artists Ivan Iler, Steph Joy Hogan and Dane Porter who will share insight and tips for responding to RFPs/RFQs. Featured Creative Opportunity

The Flint Institute of Arts and its Founders Society announce the  14th Annual first frost Arts & Fine Crafts Fair. 

In response to requests by the artists and the public, this year's fair will again be held inside the FIA museum, and will be limited to about 24 artist's booths in Isabel Hall. 
  • All artists will be juried. Judging criteria based on artistic quality, uniqueness of design and appropriateness to the holiday event. (No antiques or mass-produced items) 
  • Booth Sizes: 10'x10' = $300 | 8'x8' = $225 | Also available: a few 8'x5' spaces containing an 8-ft. table with chair = $135
  • Booth and table fees will be refunded in full to unsuccessful applicants.
