Dear Colleague,

Despite the realities of the past 18 months, we as individuals and as an industry have continued to demonstrate resilience and perseverance. This will be celebrated at STA’s 88th Annual Market Structure Conference, which is set for Oct. 6-8 at the JW Marriott in Washington DC.

Staging an in-person event under current conditions is no small undertaking. We recognize that you need information in your decision to attend, and to that end, we have provided a brief Conference Update below.

Please know that STA is working closely with the JW Marriott to ensure we are observing all protocols. We will do our best to keep you apprised of any changes along the way.

We will also remain fully transparent with our members and attendees as we believe that is the best recipe for a safe, engaging conference that highlights key issues facing the securities industry while allowing for ample networking opportunities.

However you choose to attend this year's conference, either in person or virtually, we greatly appreciate your support, and we look forward to continuing to fulfill our mission of advocacy, communication, education and service.

I hope to see you in DC!

Sincerely,

Jim Toes

Conference Update

Program Format
  • The format will be hybrid. Speakers will present on stage at the JW Marriott before a live audience and the content will be livestreamed to a virtual audience.
  • All speakers have expressed an intention to present in person.
  • In the event that Washington DC bans indoor gatherings, we have the capability to go fully virtual. Currently there is no such ban.

COVID-19 Policy
  • Washington DC is currently under a face mask mandate for indoor activities, aside from eating and drinking. At this time, DC regulations do not require people to wear masks when outdoors.
  • Mayor Bowser is allowing, but not requiring, businesses to maintain stricter policies such as proof of vaccination.
  • The JW Marriott is adhering to the mask mandate only.
  • See Mayor Bowser's full 2021-097 Order here.

  • We are forecasting an in-person registration of 400 (currently 275) and 1,000 virtually.
  • Virtual registration is free for all employees of sponsoring firms.
  • Cancellations must be received via email by 4:00 p.m. EDT Friday, September 17, 2021, and may be subject to a $100 administration fee.
  • No refunds will be made after September 17, 2021. Substitutions may be made at any time without penalty.
