Heart Connections - March 2023

In March, GMHS helped 71 pets meet their match. Pictured are just a few of the happy, adoption day photos. Thank you to those who chose to open their heart and home to a formerly homeless pet!

Could you be the next to make a heart connection?

The generous support of staff, volunteers, and donors enables GMHS to provide daily care, cover special medical needs, foster animals in homes as needed, and arrange transportation to adoption-guaranteed partners. Compassionate Community

In March we were thrilled to visit Abingdon Elementary School, and host field trips at the shelter from Williamsburg Learn and Play Homeschool Group and Thomas Hunter Middle School.

GMHS offers interactive, educational programs to students in classrooms (PreK-12th grade), school enrichment clubs, scout troops, youth groups, and other community organizations. Please email to discuss your organization's needs and how we can work together to build a more kind, just, and loving community for people and pets.

"Paws" to read a good book was the theme of the Achilles Elementary School Book Fair this year! Students and staff brought in over 180 items to donate to GMHS! Pictured are fourth graders: Wren Gauthier, Grace Miller, and Matthew Jacobs who brought in pet donations.

A round of applause for Jaxson, Zoe, and Abby! They donated treats for the homeless dogs of GMHS. We are so proud to have supporters like you!

Chloe and her four, four-week-old puppies were brought into the care of GMHS after being found in our comunity.

Support GMHS and Save Lives

Did you know the total daily care cost for a puppy (birth to eight weeks) is $979?

Your donation enables us to provide shelter and care for all pets in need, including puppies, while they await adoption or transfer to a Highway to Home adoption-guaranteed partner.

Your sustainable gift makes our life-saving mission possible, and we thank you for your support!
