November was a spectacular month for heart connections, with 89 pets finding their forever homes! Also, 90 animals were transferred to adoption-guaranteed partners through our Highway to Home program. Thank you to everyone for making November such a great month for the people and pets of the communities we serve.
November 2023 Shelter Snapshot
The generous support of staff, volunteers, and donors enables GMHS to provide daily care, cover special medical needs, foster animals in homes as needed, and arrange transportation to adoption-guaranteed partners.
Help a homeless pet this holiday season and pick an ornament off our Angel Tree beginning December 1! The GMHS Angel Tree is located in the shelter's lobby and accessible during normal operating hours. Each ornament features a pet and a wish list item that will make their holidays merry and bright while they await adoption into their forever homes. Donations may be delivered in person or by mail until December 30.
Can't get to the store or shelter in person? Order from our Chewy or Amazon Wish List and have it sent right to our door.

Compassionate Community
Many thanks to our generous community for raising over $2,000 to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for all of our shelter pets! Thank you for bringing some joy to the pets of GMHS during the holiday season.
GMHS volunteer Ben Hall chose to support the homeless pets of our shelter for his senior project. Ben and his family baked for over 11 HOURS and held a bake sale which raised over $800. They used the proceeds to purchase food, treats, and supplies for our shelter residents, and we are grateful beyond measure. Thank you, Ben!
Thank you to Nico and Clara! They created 3 much-needed outdoor winter cat shelters and fleece toys for our homeless cats. Thank you both for sharing your heart for our homeless pets!
