Board Member Spotlight
Ashley Milhle, MPA, MS

Ashley Mihle is the Biosolids Project Manager with the King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) Biosolids Program, where she works to develop new products and programs and increase awareness and support for the County's biosolids product, Loop®. She is an environmental scientist with ove r a decade of experience in environmental compliance, watershed planning, biosolids, communications, and market research. Ashley is passionate about recycling poop and reducing waste. She loves her job because she can see the different Loop makes, whether it's at King County's City Soil urban farm, or at Loop's application sites across Washington State.
 
Ashley earned her Master of Science (MS) in Environmental Science and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Washington. She has been a guest speaker at a number of events covering resource recovery, biosolids and the impacts of climate change ( https://vimeo.com/271419123). Ashley is active in the industry and is also chair of the Northwest Biosolids Outreach and Education Committee, and sits on the King County Wastewater Treatment Division Equity and Social Justice Committee.
 
In her spare time, Ashley loves to be outdoors enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her senior dog Diego. She's trying to go zero waste and has started with her bathroom products and food packaging.

  • Composting Council Research & Education Foundation (CCREF) releases new videos on compost sampling - Proper sampling technique is an essential first step to achieving accurate lab results.
