Our First 2024 Millennium Town Hall

We appreciate our Millennium team members for participating in our first Town Hall of the year, where we began speaking in more detail about our 2024 strategic initiatives. Our pop-up location was the CIT headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida. Not only did our CIT team host us at their location, but they also made all the technical preparations to broadcast our town hall program. Our live audience was comprised of team members from the surrounding practices, and our Quality, Care Management, and Compliance departments.

The overall spirit of the program centered around alignment, as we work across one Millennium towards the same goals. We heard from Dr. Andres Laufer, Medical Director of InPatient Services, along with Arlene Wright, APRN, DNP and Director of Advanced Practice. Dr. Laufer explained how our Hospitalist program serves as a bridge between our primary care teams and the community Emergency Room doctors, on behalf of patients seeking care in the hospital setting. Arlene spoke about the proactive approach taken in the practices to expand access for patients, and to encourage them to “Call us First” before visiting the hospital. In both settings, they work to help our patients avoid unnecessary trips to the Emergency Room and admissions.

Dr. Laufer and Arlene are also members of the Physician Executive Governance Council (PEGC) Quality Committee, led by Dr. Liam Fry and Dr. Alejandro Perez-Trepichio. They reviewed the initiatives underway, including the creation of educational action plans for patients, targeted on conditions that can contribute to avoidable hospital utilization. This interdisciplinary committee is rolling out evidence-based clinical recommendations across Florida, Texas & North Carolina – contributing to shared goals across one Millennium.

The Town Hall has become such an important way for us to communicate, providing the ability to discuss our key initiatives together and to answer your questions in a live setting. If you missed the program, please do take the time to watch the recording. I'm so excited about the year ahead, as we continue to build upon our significant progress.

Celebrating Team Effort in Kidney Awareness

Thank you for all our incredible support at the recent 2024 Fort Myers Kidney Walk. Our team members’ participation showcased our commitment to kidney health and highlighted our collective strength in making a difference. By joining forces with Monogram Kidney Care, we've taken meaningful steps towards raising awareness for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and supporting affected families.

Let's continue to unite and advocate for improved healthcare outcomes. Consider future opportunities to engage with our advocacy efforts or donate to support families affected by CKD. Thank you for embodying compassion and community spirit during the 2024 Kidney Walk.

Screening: The Key to Colorectal Cancer Awareness

In March, we've emphasized the importance of colorectal cancer screening during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Despite being the second deadliest cancer, it's largely preventable through screening.

However, only about two-thirds of American adults are up to date with screenings. It's crucial to remind our patients that screening can detect warning signs early, making treatment more effective.

Both the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the American Cancer Society recommend screening for adults aged 45 to 75. Colonoscopies are the gold standard, but there are noninvasive options, too. Let's urge our patients, families, and friends to discuss screening options with their care teams. By promoting screening awareness, we can save lives and reduce the impact of colorectal cancer on our communities. Let's make Colorectal Cancer Awareness important in not only the month of March, but everyday as we spread more understanding about this disease.

Scope for Hope 5K, 10K Run & 2-Mile Walk

Patients Share Their Appreciation For Our Physicians, Advanced Providers, and Team Members!

A patient sent a beautiful letter of appreciation for Dr. Julia Harris and her team!

I have been a patient of Dr. Julia Harris for many years. Dr. Harris treats the whole patient. She doesn't only treat the patient for a physical disease, but is very in tune to the emotional well-being of her patients.

Most importantly, Dr. Harris possesses the knowledge of her craft through her intelligence and medical professionalism. In other words, she is a professional that exudes faith in her diagnosis. I am most certain she saved my life with her keen diagnosis and compelling efforts to get crucial tests done in days. Her emotional support was beyond words.

I am never disappointed when I am visiting one of the APRN professionals. Nancy Baratta, APRN, is always right on top of any issue. She is very comforting, and is a true professional in every sense. This also includes Sydney Krantz and Caroline Sniffen-Smith, APRN. Having been treated by all of these professionals, I always feel comfortable with their diagnosis. They continually take the time to explain every detail, never hurry, and encourage the patient to ask any question and/or concerns. The patient follow through is beyond phenomenal.

The office team is ALWAYS friendly, patient, and kind. For example, I called in one day feeling very sick. The office team member I encountered on the phone didn't have availability until the next day. After making an appointment for the next day, not even five minutes later, I received the most amazing phone call. The receptionist that I had spoken with said, "I can tell how sick you feel. I am going to get you in today." What doctor's office would ever do this? Well, Dr. Harris's office did just that. After seeing me, the APRN said, "Don't even stop to check-out. Have your husband get you to the car, and we will take care of the paperwork.". They called to check on me two days in a row. This effort is so very meaningful to the patient.

Dmitriy Chatskiy, DO

Dr. Chatskiy has great bedside manner. He always makes me feel comfortable while in the hospital.

Victoria McCreadie, APRN

Victoria is wonderful. I wouldn't give her up or trade her for anything in this world.

Joey Randolph

Joey Randolph is an excellent Physical Therapist. He is knowledgeable and does a great job of explaining how exercises target specific muscles for a speedy recovery. I would highly recommend him!
