Sharing Our 2024 Strategic Priorities
I am excited to start sharing our strategic direction for 2024! Our physician and administrative leaders have taken several months to plan for the year. You’ve certainly heard about the challenges that all healthcare organizations began experiencing last year, so our plan specifically takes those headwinds into account and emphasizes the levers that we can best control.
These are the three main areas that we will focus on in our 2024 strategic direction.

Physician & Advanced Provider Engagement – Although the engagement of every team member is incredibly important, we know that the core of everything we do revolves around the high-quality care delivered by our physicians and advanced providers. All of us can continue our commitment to supporting the practices and supporting the ability of our physicians and advanced providers to easily take care of our patients.
- Improving Quality / Reducing Unnecessary Medical Expenses – To strengthen our delivery of high-quality care, we’ll continue our deliberate focus on managing medical expense. That’s why we are making sure our high-risk patients are proactively scheduled for frequent visits during the year and that they receive a timely post discharge follow-up if they are hospitalized. A planful and deliberate approach helps patients avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room or hospital. We also have proactive efforts to help patients with certain conditions, such as prescribing rescue kits for patients with COPD, and obtaining care from our Monogram Health partners for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. We strongly believe that by taking these intentional actions, we will see improved patient care.
- Practice Operations – The decision we made in 2023 to slow our growth helped us improve our practice operations. Our patients certainly benefited through better access and responsiveness. Because the demand for Millennium’s great patient care remains high, we will continue with strategies that build access. A number of advanced providers will be added to practices that we know have a high demand and greater access is needed to further serve those communities.
You will hear a lot more about our strategic direction in the upcoming POD meetings and our next Town Hall. We do have a very optimistic view of 2024, as we have created a plan that we know will keep Millennium an industry leader in value-based care and ultimately provide even better care for our patients.

On February 16, 2024, we have the opportunity to honor the selfless and generous healthcare professionals who provide long-term and hospice care to the most vulnerable patients in our communities.
Let us express our gratitude towards these caregivers for their tireless efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of those who need it the most. Their compassion and dedication inspire us all.

The team members at the Merchant's Crossing location celebrated Valentine's Day by decorating envelopes as mailboxes for their colleagues' desks. They exchanged cards and candy with each other, placing them in the handmade mailboxes. The office was filled with appreciation and love for our Millennium family. | | |
