August eNews 2022
Dear Friends of Catholic Charities’ Samaritan Center,

This summer's e-newsletter brings updates from our June Golf Classic, Golf Supporters, 30th Annual Soup Bowl, United Way Campaign, John's Island Foundation Grant, and exciting news of Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach's CEO, Ellen T. Wayne.

Wishing everyone a wonderful back to school year filled with happiness and success.

Due to the threat of severe weather and the high potential of torrential rain and lighting occurring in and across south Florida on June 3rd 2022, the 16th Annual Bernard & Betty Egan Memorial Golf Classic was cancelled. Safety comes first, and remember golf, no matter how great of a game and for a great cause, it’s just a game and not worth risking anyone’s safety. The golf outing was not rescheduled. But, we are very pleased that the Grand Harbor Golf Club provided each team member a voucher to schedule a future tee time. A friendly reminder that tee times need to be scheduled by September 30th. Many participants stopped by in spite of the storm to enjoy a delicious lunch, pick up their goody bag and drawing prizes. Catholic Charities' Samaritan Center is exceeding fundraising goals in spite of the cancelation, and is extremely grateful to the Bernard Egan Foundation for generously matching all sponsorships dollar to dollar. . We thank the Advisory Board from the bottom of our hearts for working so hard on planning the golf outing and appreciate everyone's understanding that Mother Nature had other plans.

If you would like to learn more about how you can share your time and talent, or if you would like a tour of the Samaritan Center, please contact us at 772-770-3039. Thank you!
