LGE Class XXVIII Spotlight
Name: Kurt Thomas
Hometown : Kingfisher, Oklahoma
Family: I am single with one chocolate lab, Baylee.
Occupation/Profession: I am an Adult Career Development Coordinator at Autry Technology Center. I create classes for adult students to gain certifications for employment.
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?: The best advice I have received was from my grandpa when working on the farm. He constantly reminded me about the value of hard work and doing things the right way.
What qualities do you look for in a leader?: I look for someone that leads by example, is humble, and works hard.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?: I could win a medal for the amount of trips I make through the Chick-fil-A drive through.
Favorite thing about Enid: My favorite thing about Enid is the community.
Name: Kelli Schovanec
Hometown: Enid, Oklahoma - I went to school and graduated from Kremlin-Hillsdale.
Family: I am married to Tyler, and have two kids: Addison (10) and Jackson (6).
Occupation/Profession: I am an Attorney at Ezzell & Shepherd who primarily practices in the areas of real estate, oil and gas, estate planning and probate, wind energy and business law.
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." This is a Wayne Gretzky quote, but my dad would say it to me all the time. It not only applied to sports, but to anything you want to do or achieve in life. If you are too scared to give it a try, you'll never succeed.
What qualities do you look for in a leader?: I look for someone who listens well to the others surrounding them, as well as a person that can lead by example.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for? : I would be a gold medal winner for being the craziest and most dedicated OU Sooner Sports Fan.
Favorite thing about Enid: The people, without a doubt. I was born and raised here, and you cannot find the quality of people that live in Northwest Oklahoma anywhere else in the world. I knew that this was where I wanted to live and raise my family.
