A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO

Dani_website.jpg

Greetings,

It is always fun to communicate with stakeholders and investors on the heels of a new project announcement. This week, we were proud to announce the decision by Spring Oaks Capital LLC to expand its operations into greater Albuquerque - the first office location for the company outside of its Virginia headquarters. This office operation will create 200 or more jobs and a total economic impact of more than $33 million in the first three years of operation. They have already hired several New Mexico residents to kickstart their operations, and are actively promoting open positions.

On April 26, we had the great fortune of participating in a visit by Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm upon her visit to TWO locations in the region, both of which AREA was proud to have assisted in their locations in the region: Array Technologies and Arcosa Wind Towers. This level of visibility underscores that New Mexico is most definitely on the map for key growth industries.

In less than 30 days we have onboarded and responded 15 new business development opportunities, and are preparing ourselves and more than 30 partners for strong execution of a New Mexico presence and sizable trade show exhibition at the Bio International Convention in San Diego in June, with 25,000 attendees.

But of course, the summer is not even here yet. Stay tuned and be sure to register for our upcoming June 27 Town Hall Luncheon program with national guest speakers focused on the critical topic of site readiness!

With gratitude,

Spring Oaks Capital LLC Finds New Home in Albuquerque

Greater Albuquerque just scored some new Lobo fans and some tremendous career opportunities for existing ones, with the announcement of Spring Oaks Capital LLC’s decision to create 200 new jobs in the region with starting salaries at $20 per hour. This new operation will deliver a total economic impact to the region of $33.6 million in its first three years alone. After a series of visits to competing markets for Spring Oaks Capital’s first expansion location outside of its headquarters in Virginia, and a detailed exploration of facilities and getting to know the greater Albuquerque community and workforce resources, it was decision time. The AREA team found out that Spring Oaks Capital selected the community with a surprise Zoom call and seeing Spring Oaks Capital’s leadership wearing a Lobo hat to announce their decision. It was the type of moment that economic developers live for.
