The FMEC will hold its 2026 Annual Meeting at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, NJ from September 24-26, 2026. Plenary speakers will include Drs. Kisha Davis, Mike Varshavski, and Kaitlin Baston, who will show the power and breadth of family medicine and educate and enlighten the audience about critical and emerging issues for primary healthcare. Residency Fair Deadline is August 7

As of July 20, FMEC has 87 residency programs registered for the Residency Fair. We expect to have over 100 at the meeting. The deadline for registration is August 7, and space is limited, so we cannot guarantee space after August 7 or once we reach our maximum. For more information, visit 2026 FMEC Residency Fair.

Stand Out with a Sponsorship or Exhibit

Your residency program, hospital and health system can stand out and recruit for open positions at the FMEC Annual Meeting! The meeting is a great opportunity to reach over 1,000 family medicine leaders and learners. Many of the hospitals and health systems in the region use the FMEC meeting to stand out and or/recruit for open positions. You can also sponsor an event or activity, which includes recognition and can include sharing information with attendees via a flyer or ad. Scholarship applications for the FMEC 2026 Annual Meeting are higher than usual. We expect to be close to our record of 360 students who attended the 2024 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. We can’t give all these medical students scholarships without your help! Please consider donating to the Nik Zervanos, MD, Student Scholarship program to help FMEC bring these students to learn about Family Medicine and meet your residency programs. FMEC accepts donations of any amount from individuals, residency programs, hospitals and health systems, medical societies and more.

Early Childhood and Positive Parenting Webinar is August 5

Learn about free resources to support residency programs to promote early childhood development and positive parenting by joining this free webinar on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 12:30pm to 1:15pm ET. As part of its Residency Learning Network initiative, this webinar will discuss practical strategies and resources to promote positive parenting, strong parent-child relationships, and healthy early childhood development within residencies. FMEC is partnering with the Mount Sinai Parenting Center (MSPC) to introduce free, evidence-informed educational resources that have been successfully implemented by family medicine programs across the country. Webinar Series to Explore Primary Care Role with Survivors

The FMEC’s five‑part webinar series to help family physicians better understand and support young breast cancer survivors (YBCS) is happening! Join us to strengthen your skills in survivorship care and improve outcomes for young adults navigating life after cancer. You can participate in as many sessions as you are able. Share this with the nurses, NPs, and PAs on your care team so they can help provide support to YBCS patients. Young Breast Cancer Survivors Didactic Now Available

FMEC has developed a Facilitator Guide, PowerPoint presentation, and participant handouts for its CDC-funded project to support young breast cancer survivors. The Supporting Young Breast Cancer Survivors: A Family Medicine Training didactic is ready for you to present to your residents. This adaptable presentation focuses on young breast cancer survivors (diagnosed before age 45) and centers psychosocial and survivorship needs, not oncology treatment. Resources include interactive case studies, role playing tools, and discussion questions. FMEC Coordinator Conference Sessions are Posted

Nearly 50 residency coordinators from around the region joined FMEC for our first Virtual Coordinator Conference, held June 18, 2026. Thank you to those who joined and especially to our great speakers! Slides and recordings from the general sessions and breakout groups are posted at FMEC Resources for Residency Coordinators. Topics included competency-based education, navigating SOAP; ACGME site visit success; faculty scheduling; ERAS changes, and more.

Primary Care for All Americans Meeting Recordings

Primary Care for All Americans (PC4AA) held its first summit in May 2026, and slide presentations and video recordings are posted on the PC4AA website. Presentations included Primary Care as a Public Utility, From Payment Reform to System Transformation, Measuring What Matters, and more. For more information, visit Primary Care for All Americans.

FMEC’s IMPLICIT Network develops, implements, evaluates, and optimizes new and existing models of care focused on improving birth outcomes and the health of mothers/birthing people, infants, and families. Over 50 clinic sites in 12 states have joined, including new members Temple Family and Community Medicine, Temple Chestnut Hill Family Medicine, and Jefferson Health Family and Community Medicine, which were able to join due to a Philadelphia Department of Public Health Mini-Grant. IMPLICIT’s Scholarly Activity Committee has 9 projects in process, and recent publications include A Guide to Implementing Fourth-Trimester Care in a Family Medicine Practice and From Pipeline to Practice: Supporting Family Physicians as a Maternal Health Solution. Site data submitted to IMPLICIT continues to show strong visit and screening rates, with interconception screenings for smoking cessation, depression, family planning and more ranging from 65-93%. FMEC can “bundle” your invoices for Partnership dues, Residency Fair booths, and faculty and resident individual registrations. We can also invoice your program at specific times during the year, for instance if it’s easier for you to pay at the beginning of your fiscal year, or you have funds left at the end of the fiscal year to put toward next year.
