The 2026 Annual Meeting (September 24-26, 2026) will be held at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. NOTE: The Early Bird registration deadline has been moved back to July 17, 2026, to allow poster presenters who will be notified in early July to register at the lower rate.

Highlight Your Health System and Recruit at the 2026 Annual Meeting
Your residency program, hospital and health system can stand out and recruit for open positions at the FMEC Annual Meeting! The meeting is a great opportunity to reach over 1,000 family medicine leaders and learners. Many of the hospitals and health systems in the region use the FMEC meeting to stand out and or/recruit for open positions. You can also sponsor an event or activity, which includes recognition and can include sharing information with attendees via a flyer or ad. Scholarship applications for the FMEC 2026 Annual Meeting are higher than usual. We expect to be close to our record of 360 students who attended the 2024 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
We can’t give all these medical students scholarships without your help! Please consider donating to the Nik Zervanos, MD, Student Scholarship program to help FMEC bring these students to learn about Family Medicine and meet your residency programs. FMEC accepts donations of any amount from individuals, residency programs, hospitals and health systems, medical societies and more.
FMEC has brought nearly 8,000 medical students to FMEC meetings over the last 20 years. Donors are recognized on the FMEC website and on signs and slides at the meeting.

Looking back on the whole process, attending the FMEC Annual Meeting was honestly one of the most valuable things I did. Being able to meet programs face-to-face, especially right before applications were due, made a huge difference. It gave me a much better sense of where I could see myself and helped take a lot of the guesswork out of the application process. I’m really thankful for FMEC’s support of students going into Family Medicine. Having the opportunity to attend, especially with financial support, made something that could have been difficult to access actually possible. | | The FMEC Board of Trustees, staff and other FMEC leaders are developing a new strategic plan that will guide FMEC activity for years to come. In early 2026, nearly 200 FMEC leaders and active volunteers were surveyed or interviewed about FMEC’s values, strengths, customers, and aspirations, as well as current and future trends in Family Medicine and how FMEC fits into the landscape of organizations addressing them. Members gave input on how much they value FMEC’s work to support medical students, residents and faculty, and cited FMEC’s strengths in making connections, developing community, supporting innovation, and empowering Family Medicine advocates as critical. The FMEC Board will continue to work with our consultants, Work Wisdom, to expand on these important concepts and develop the screening tools and questions that will help FMEC make decisions going forward. Young Breast Cancer Survivors Didactic Now Available
FMEC has developed a Facilitator Guide, PowerPoint presentation, and participant handouts for its CDC-funded project to support young breast cancer survivors. The Supporting Young Breast Cancer Survivors: A Family Medicine Training didactic is ready for you to present to your residents. This adaptable presentation focuses on young breast cancer survivors (diagnosed before age 45) and centers psychosocial and survivorship needs, not oncology treatment. Resources include interactive case studies, role playing tools, and discussion questions. Webinar Series to Explore Primary Care Role with Survivors
Starting in July 2026, FMEC is hosting a five‑part webinar series designed to help family physicians better understand and support young breast cancer survivors. Through clinical insights, lived experience, and practical strategies, our experts will explore the treatment journey, long‑term effects, lifestyle interventions, emotional health, and the real‑world challenges survivors face. Join us to strengthen your skills in survivorship care and improve outcomes for young adults navigating life after cancer. Our first Module is July 22. FMEC Oral Health Module now in Smiles for Life
The Smiles for Life program has added the module “Veteran Oral Health and Medical-Dental Integration,” developed by FMEC, into its curriculum resources. These slides and speaker notes can be easily adapted to add to your program’s offerings. To access the presentation, go to Smiles for Life Veteran’s Oral Health. Thank you to all the FMEC volunteers and subject matter experts who helped develop this program. One expert who worked with FMEC, Dr. Elizabeth Alpert, faculty member at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene, has also just recorded a podcast, “Serving Those Who Served: Oral Health and Veterans,” which is available at Smiles for Life Podcasts.

FMEC can “bundle” your invoices for Partnership dues, Residency Fair booths, and faculty and resident individual registrations. We can also invoice your program at specific times during the year, for instance if it’s easier for you to pay at the beginning of your fiscal year, or you have funds left at the end of the fiscal year to put toward next year.
