Dear Friends,
It's springtime here in Northern California, and we are graced by fragrant blooms popping up everywhere! The beauty beckons us to celebrate the natural world, new life and the precious planet we inhabit.
What a perfect time to pause and reflect on our blessings! What are you grateful for in this moment? What new life is flowing through you and out into the world? Our ITPI team greatly appreciates your dedication to practice and the gifts you share with our global ITP community and those around you.
In our Spring issue, we continue to explore what makes ITP distinctive, generative and ever-evolving. Imagine the practice of ITP as a 4-legged stool with these sturdy legs: theory, practice, community and research. These components are designed to provide a balanced approach for our transformative journey. Let's take a peek at those elements now.
The underlying theory of ITP as outlined in Michael Murphy’s essay, The Emergence of Evolutionary Panentheism, brings forth the notion that divine life is waking up in all that is, and in us. Each individual has their own unique signature and, at the same time, is connected to greater life. The practice supports the co-evolving of our many parts - body, mind, heart and soul - with the support of friends, family and the ITP practice community.
Research, performed either subjectively by practitioners or in the context of a study such as with IONS or Stanford University, provides encouragement that we are aimed in the right direction with our practice and practitioners are reaping the benefits. Research also offers insights into new directions to take for the growth of our evolving practice and for each member engaged.
Please enjoy this exploration of the essential parts of ITP and the rich array of videos and articles provided by our practitioners and ITP guides, including our own ITP co-founder Michael Murphy!
Wishing you a season of beauty, peace and joy,
Pam Kramer
ITPI President

“We believe that by the very nature of things, each of us carries a spark of divinity in every cell and that we have the potential to manifest powers of body, mind, heart and soul beyond our present ability to imagine.”

Cultivating Transformation Through
Your ITP Kata Practice
by Eric Carlson, ITP Teacher and Integral Leadership member
|
|
“Both spontaneously and through transformative practice, a new evolutionary domain
is rising in the human species.” - Michael Murphy
There is a calling in the ITP stratosphere beckoning you to engage it. Do you answer the invitation? As one of the ITP commitments, it is suggested we practice the Kata 5 times per week! That is no small effort. Committing to an ITP Kata practice requires discipline and the rewards are truly life-changing. There is a reason long-time practitioners shine their beautiful light upon the transformative nature of a daily Kata practice. In the writing below, I feature the core philosophies of ITP to honor the transformative power of the ITP Kata and inspire you to engage more deeply with this important practice.

Experiencing GRACE
Charlotte Hatch, ITP Mastery Teacher, guides us in the opening of the ITP Kata
|
|
In The Life We Are Given, the Kata is described as an embodiment of the ITP practice, an activity that, for all its benefits, is done on a regular basis primarily for its own sake. As an opening to the ITP Kata, GRACE sets the tone for this moving meditation. It serves as a "sort of pilot's checklist for balancing and centering." Enjoy this guided segment of the Kata with ITP Mastery Teacher Charlotte Hatch to step into your daily practice or offer a boost within your day to ground, relax, become aware, center and feel energized!

Community Group Spotlight on ITP Kansas
|
|
ITP Kansas has been part of our ITP community since Fall 2010. Currently, the group of six official members has been meeting via Zoom throughout the past year on a weekly basis. Described as a group of leaders, ITP Kansas has had three members attend ITP's Mastery sessions and many of the group members attend the regular GLEE calls to be a part of the larger vision of the ITP community. In this video interview with group leader, Cherri Harper, and fellow members: Betsy Cauble, Darla Cobb, Dave Manning, Jac Brown (not able to join this interview) and Nathan Bolls, they share why practicing within a group setting is so important, what makes their group unique and how ITP has supported their individual and group transformation.
