Kindergarten Roundup is Thursday, Feb. 1
Do you have a child entering kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year? Barrington 220 is implementing free full-day kindergarten at all of our elementary schools in August 2024. Our elementary principals will be holding in-person information sessions on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 6:00pm at your neighborhood elementary school. If you plan to attend, please fill out this form.
In addition to full-day kindergarten at each of our eight elementary schools, Barrington 220 offers three optional programs. These include our innovative new Kindergarten Lab Program or "K-Lab" at Barrington High School, the Spanish Dual Language Program, and the Chinese Immersion Program.

Construction on final two schools to be completed this winter
Barrington 220 is now in the final stages of Build 220 construction, as construction crews continue work at the last two remaining schools in the district. The new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) labs at Barbara B. Rose Elementary and North Barrington Elementary are scheduled for completion in February. At this time, all eight of our elementary schools will have dedicated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) labs, a unique opportunity for our students that not many school districts are able to provide. Please join Barrington 220 and the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation for an open house inside the new culinary arts lab at Barrington High School! The new space was made possible by the Build 220 initiative that the community voted to support in March 2020.
The Educational Foundation granted the district $111,000 to fund equipment, supplies, and other materials to develop a BHS Culinary Internship Program. The program will teach students professional culinary skills and techniques such as proper knife use, food safety, menu planning, cooking techniques, and more. Students will also learn about front-of-the-house operations like staffing, hospitality management, the economics of food, and marketing. The open house is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 6pm to 8pm.
