Hope Memorial Bridge, Cleveland, OH and Mack® Truck model AC
Mack® Trucks Forever Part of Cleveland History

The Cleveland Indians are going to have a new name, the Cleveland "Guardians". Back in 1932 the 3,657 ft. Hope Memorial Bridge was built in Cleveland spanning the Cuyahoga River. The bridge features four iconic sandstone pylons that depict the Guardians of Traffic. Each pylon has two sculpted figures holding a vehicle, representing the history of ground transportation through depictions of a stagecoach a covered wagon a 1930's - era automobile and four types of motorized trucks used for construction. The motorized trucks for construction are Mack® model AC. These very durable chain driven trucks were used not only in World War I, but for many years afterwards in all types of applications. They didn't have to go fast, just haul the load and do the job and they did. So much so that they are permanently etched in stone for all to see. So we may have new "Guardians" on the professional baseball field in Cleveland but the Mack® Truck Guardians did the job to help build Cleveland many years ago.

Grain Silos
Colebrook Elevator, run by the Yuhasz Brothers in Colebrook, OH, is adding 1.3 million bushels of grain storage to their location in Ashtabula county.

Their Grain Elevator business started on their family farm back in the mid 80's, when the government was looking for housing for corn with only 4 bins.

All work was self-preformed and required over 1,000 yards of ready mix concrete. For more information on how we can help you with construction projects to make your business grow, please contact:

Each month we highlight a different R.W. Sidley employee, from all divisions in the company as to what motivates them to come to work every day and do their best.
Tom Tobias, Estimator, Sidley Precast Group 34 Years of Service
When I started at Sidley Precast back in 1987, the first project I estimated was the Pittsburgh International Airport. When we were awarded that job, it was exciting because it put the Precast Group in another league, proving that Sidley Precast could successfully produce and build such a large precast structure. I am proud to say we did and have gone to do many more large and high profile precast projects. As my tenure at Sidley's winds down, I think with pride of all the hundreds of jobs over the years that I have been involved with, and all the great people I have worked with here at Sidley. By the way, the Pittsburgh Airport is planning on building another large parking garage, and I will be estimating it in the near future, so you could say my career has come full circle.
