Doing Good Together
As part of our sermon series titled, "Jesus in the City," we are including ideas for families to serve together in ways that speak to their hearts.
- Support a school drive. Hennepin will sponsor one in August, but, honestly, all school drives are a great way to connect with your kids, do some shopping together, and help all children start school on the right foot! For older kids, this can be a fun math game. Consider giving everyone in the family a budget and then do some internet researching to see how you can get the most for your money!
- Make tie blankets. Smaller ones (36in x 36in) can be donated to animal shelters, the humane society, or the infant/pediatric units of hospitals. Larger blankets can be donated to Children's Hospital for all ages of patients. Kids love to help pick out fabric, and tying the knots is a great way to develop small motor skills in younger kids!
