Congratulations to Michelle Seipel for being our PPS Foundation Hero of the Month! In her role as Director of Technology for Peoria Public Schools, Michelle has always gone above and beyond to help the Foundation with our technology concerns. She is always willing to troubleshoot issues, allowing us to get the vital technology component of our programs up and running, and will jump to the rescue when things don’t go as planned. We are very grateful for all work she puts into making our technology run.  Thank you for all you do, Michelle!
This month we caught up with our very own Matt Violet, who is the PPS Foundation's Data and Programming Logistics Coordinator. Matt started working at the Foundation at the beginning of this school and has been doing an outstanding job. Check out his answers below to get to know him better!

Matt, what's one of your favorite things to do in Peoria?

Spending time with my nieces. In terms of Peoria attractions, I like the Riverfront Museum and Tanner's Orchard.

If you could go to any place in the world, where would it be and why?

Either Italy for its scenery and rich history, or Tokyo because I find its Akihabara district (as well as Japanese culture in general) fascinating.

Do you have a favorite type of music or favorite band?

Classic Rock. Some of my favorite bands include Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Metallica.

What types of activities were you involved in during high school?

I wrote for the school newspaper, played on the tennis team, and was a member of the national honor society and foreign language club.

What's your favorite thing about your job with the PPS Foundation?

Being part of an extremely supportive group of people who are passionate about improving the lives of Peoria school children.

Matt helps coordinate many of our programs, including See it Be, uniforms for students and our Little Free Pantries. He is also currently working on our program to promote the Child Tax Care Credit. We appreciate him very much. Thanks for chatting with us, Matt!
