This year's BTN Big 10k was incredible!

We had an amazing time on Saturday, July 15 at the BTN Big 10k. We have been a charity partner for this race for many years, and it is always an exciting event to be a part of.

Our athletes had a huge role in this year's event!

Shabbona Park's Matt Gorski ran the 10k wearing the Runner 321 bib.

Chris Shadden from Marquette Park wore the Runner 321 bib for the 5k.

Chris was joined for the 5k by Tommy Shimoda from Mt. Greenwood Park.

The National Anthem was performed by Nicole Flores, another Shabbona Park superstar.

Independence Park athlete William Tang and Norwood Park athlete Connor Fallon held the finish line tape for the race winners.

We also had a whole team of Norwood Park athletes and their families giving out medals at the finish line.

Don't miss the Associate Board's annual Baseball Fundraiser next week!

Join the Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities Associate Board next Thursday, July 27, for their annual Baseball Fundraiser! We'll be at Guaranteed Rate Field to watch the White Sox take on the Cleveland Guardians! The game is at 7:10 PM, but you're invited to a tailgate at Armour Square Park where you can pick up your ticket and purchase food and drinks starting at 5:00 PM.

Summer Day Camp Activities

We have been providing fun and exciting enrichment programs for the Chicago Park District Special Recreation Day Camps! Campers have been busy learning about science with Mad Science, getting creative with Paint & Sip and Pinot's Pallette, and doing fun music therapy activities with Creative Exchange and Dynamic Lynks!

We love giving our athletes opportunities for learning, creativity, and exploration!

Summer Family Opportunities

The summer session of Family Opportunities is underway! Athletes and family members can participate in lots of fun activities this season including Driving Range, Mini Golf, Archery, Fishing, Rock Climbing and Bowling.

CAN TV

Did you know that our athletes have their own show on CAN TV? Their crew joined us at our Evening Reception to interview guests. Their show airs on the first and third Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM. You can also view episodes anytime on Youtube.

Athlete Artwork Feature
