On January 25, 2025, STEM South Carolina hosted an exciting “Circuits & Electricity” STEM Saturday at Airport High School in West Columbia. This STEM Saturday engaged 158 students in grades K-12 from 91 schools – 60% qualified for the free or reduced lunch program. Participants engaged in fun and educational activities like building models of traffic lights, city grids, and flashlights. 44 volunteers (36 college students and 9 professionals) provided 157.5 mentor hours. Sponsored by Clemson University, Integer Technologies LLC, and Benedict College, STEM Saturday gave students a hands-on experience in learning how electricity flows through circuits and powers everyday technology. |
