We just received word that Allure/Sailfish Oasis in Guatemala is donating a fishing and accommodations package

to the auction at the upcoming Casino Royale Banquet! There's still time to get your cockpit crews dialed in before our summer tournaments  

  and traveling to any spot with high catch numbers like Guatemala can really help. Two days of fishing with Captain Kiwi and his crew can definitely give your anglers that extra advantage as many of our members have experienced in the past.

  

Last month, we had to repack and re-certify our life raft, which is an older Viking 6-man valise raft. After taking to a company in Houston and paying a $200 inspection deposit, we looked at the price point at which we would go ahead and re-certify this raft versus by a new one. As it turned out, it ended up being a push; the cost of a new life raft compared to re-certifying being almost identical, both with 3-year service intervals. Three years from now, we'll probably just buy a new one, then service a few times. Here's a good article on rafts, check it out.....
