As summer is drawing to an end, things have really been heating up for the Big Country Home Builders.
July came and went at record speed. The Parade of Homes event turned out to be a big success. Despite the pandemic, Abilenians and patrons from around the Big Country did not disappoint. We are so grateful for the builders who participated in this year’s parade … it was definitely against all odds. Thank You for opening your homes to the attendees and for all that you did to keep us in compliance. Events like these do not happen without gracious sponsors. Please join me in thanking the following businesses for their gracious financial contributions to the success of this year’s parade. First Financial Bank, Taylor Telecom, AEP Texas, First Texas Title, ACME Brick, Big Country Stone, Security Title, Atmos Energy, Big Country Title Company, Pinnacle Granite Solutions and Centennial Title.
On Saturday August the 8th, the HBA hosted its 14th Annual Clay Shoot benefiting the Habitat for Humanity. We were extremely pleased with the turnout of over 275 shooters and a fabulous crowd at the dinner and awards event held that evening. I'd like to give a shout out to Jeremy McBrayer and his committee for working so hard to bring us this well attended event. It's also important to remember the many businesses who helped sponsor this event. We cannot continue the legacy of this event, without your help. Next year we will celebrate our 15th Anniversary and we are already looking forward to a BIG turnout. Be sure to join us for the Membership Luncheon in September where we will present our charitable contribution to Habitat for Humanity.
Moving right along into September, we are gearing up for the Annual Golf Tournament at Diamond Back Golf Course on Wednesday September 9th. The registration link can be found down the way in the newsletter, so be sure to get on board today before it's sold out. We can accept 35 teams of 4 and we hope you will be making plans to join us.
The Annual Board of Directors Electronic Ballots will soon be hitting your inbox. Keep an eye out for this important email. It's as simple as a couple of clicks and this is your voice, your vote so please take a few moments to help us define the up and coming leadership of this organization. Each active Associate Member and Builder Member will receive one vote. In the event that your business has multiple associates that participate in HBA affiliated events, please remember the ballot will go to the "owner" of the membership.
I’m very proud of the Big Country HBA and I am always amazed to see how well this group of members and friends has managed to handle everything that has been thrown our way. I hope you are all staying safe and well and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Big Country HBA President
