PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM
|
First Draw PPP Loans are for those borrowers who have not received a PPP loan before August 8, 2020. The first round of the PPP, which ran from March to August 2020, was a historic success helping 5.2 million small businesses keep 51 million American workers employed.
Second Draw PPP Loans are for eligible small businesses with 300 employees or less, that previously received a First Draw PPP Loan and will use or have used the full amount only for authorized uses, and that can demonstrate at least a 25% reduction in gross receipts between comparable quarters in 2019 and 2020. The maximum amount of a Second Draw PPP loan is $2 million.

The Emerging Leaders program assists small businesses in growing their business, creating jobs, and strengthening their communities. This innovative initiative is an intense 7-month course that offers approximately 100 hours of training per participant and provides the opportunity for small business owners to work with experienced professionals at no cost.
Target your business for expansion:
Emerging Leaders training is specifically designed to accelerate growth and support the expansion of your business. The curriculum delivers advanced training and provides strategies to help you access new avenues of capital. It offers practical strategies to help you access new avenues of capital. It offers practical tools to pursue new paths for business development. It surrounds you with a network of government resources and local business leaders prepared to invest time and energy in your business.
Qualifications:
The Emerging Leaders initiative is open to small business owners and executives that:
- Have annual revenues of at least $250,000.
- Have been in business for at least 3 years.
- Have at least one employee other than self.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM LENDISTRY
REGARDING THE CALIFORNIA RELIEF GRANT
Lendistry is still reviewing applications and sending out notifications to those who applied for the grant. There is a large number of applicants who are not responding to Lendistry's request to provide additional information if you have been selected. We highly advise you to check your email, (including spam) to see if you have received notification regarding the status of your application. If you have been selected to receive a grant and you have not responded to Lendistry's request for additional information you are at risk of losing the award.

Governor Newsom Announces Immediate Assistance for Businesses Impacted by COVID-19 Including Temporary Tax Relief and $500 Million in Grants
Billions in immediate, temporary tax relief will support businesses impacted by COVID-19, including an automatic three-month extension for taxpayers filing less than $1 million in sales tax and interest-free payment agreements to larger companies with up to $5 million in sales tax and expanded interest-free payment options for larger businesses particularly affected by significant restrictions on operations based on COVID-19 transmissions.
The loans are flexible, transparent, and are designed to help businesses access the capital and advisory services they need to get through these challenging economic times.
The funds are being deployed by participating community lenders, and businesses with up to 50 full-time employees and gross revenues of less than $2.5 million in 2019 may be eligible to apply.

COVID 19 Tracing and Resilience Course Opportunity
|
Bakersfield College announces the launch of an Infectious Disease Contact Tracing course. As the need for more contact tracers ramps up, BC is responding by introducing a course that will allow individuals to gain the employability skills needed to provide contract tracing for employers and the community.
The course is a non-credit class held entirely online, for a total of 18-course hours. Students will learn about coronavirus, infectious diseases, and develop the skills needed to perform contact tracing. The course is open to current Bakersfield College students as well as to the community.
These non-credit courses will be 100% online and offered free of charge.

Has COVID-19 affected your ability to pay your rent or mortgage?
Eligibility Guidelines:
- Income LESS than 80% of median income ($55,900 for a family of 4).
- LOSS of income since March 2020, or medical bills greater than $1,000.
- INABILITY to pay full rent or mortgage payment.
- RESIDENT of City of Bakersfield or Rental CONTRACT or MORTGAGE in your name.

HOUSING FOR THE HARVEST PROGRAM
|
Housing for the Harvest Program will provide safe and temporary isolation spaces for farmworkers who test positive for COVID-19 to slow the spread in their communities.
Who Qualifies?
- Must work in California food processing or in agriculture.
- Have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed and have been asked to self isolate.
- Be unable to self isolate at home.
