Hello HBA Members & Friends...
It's hard to believe that we are already half way to the month of March which means we year’s will be headed towards the end of the first quarter of the year. That sure is a testament to how quickly the time flies.
We want you to know that we are moving forward with 2021, in hopes that "normalcy" will decide to join us somewhere along the way. With that being said, please take a look at our annual events calendar attached in this newsletter and be sure to mark your calendars for these outings.
We will not have an After-Hours event in February, but we are hopeful to resume "Cocktails and Conversation" as well as "The Builders Academy" learning series during the second quarter.
Our first major event on the calendar will be the Parade of Homes. This annual event will take place on the weekends of June 11th, 12th and 13th as well as the weekend of June 19th and 20th. This event will be offered with free admission as our gift to the community and we are looking forward to another well attended and successful event. The craftsmanship, attention to detail and innovation the builders will put into these homes is second to none. Countless hours will be invested into each of these homes and the results are only made possible with the expert hands of skilled tradesmen, suppliers and a number of supporting businesses all of whom are members of the Big Country Home Builders Association. I am proud to build in Abilene and I am even more proud to build alongside fellow HBA members who, together share in a commitment to Promote and Protect the Building Industry". So, mark your calendars and be sure to bring your family and your friends. Events such as this one are not possible without our partners. Please join me in expressing our appreciation for our Grand Tour Presenting Sponsors: First Financial Bank Texas and Taylor Telecom whose continued support helps bring this event to the citizens of Abilene year after year.
On April 13th, the HBA will charter a VIP Bus for our members to attend and experience Rally Day. Due to the current COVID situation, our Rally Day experience will be much different than years past, but nonetheless we cordially invite you to join us. TAB’s Rally Day is an advocacy event hosted at the Texas State Capitol. Rally Day is a valuable opportunity for association members to visit Austin, Texas and to talk with their local legislators and key policy staff face-to-face. TAB will provide briefing materials on legislative issues and pending legislation that is important to the Texas residential construction, remodeling and development industry. Please consider RSVP'ing to join us. We are limited to 40 people who will be able to attend this year’s event, so don't miss your opportunity to join us.
Lastly, I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday March 4th for monthly membership luncheon. We will be hearing from Brian Massey with Houses for Healing.
