SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
HOSTS A TRUNK-OR-TREAT EVENT
|
The Sheriff's Activities League (SAL) participated in a Trunk-or-Treat employee appreciation event that was sponsored by the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff's Association (SCDSA). |
|
Guests adventured through a haunted house, a pumpkin patch, a photo booth, and much more! |
|
Deputies and volunteers passed out ice cream, candy, helped with carnival-style games, and interacted with guests. |
|

FLORIN HIGH SCHOOL LAW ACADEMY - PUMPKIN DERBY |
|
PRESENTATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY |
Deputies held a presentation at Stepping Stones Preschool, Stoneridge Elementary, Barrett Ranch Elementary, and a local daycare. Deputies discussed when to dial 9-1-1, displayed their vehicles, and handed out tobacco-free giveaways. |

Every week, deputies interact with students at Dyer Kelly after school is out. This is a fun way to stay in touch with students and their families! |
|
Lunchtime with YSU was held at Dyer Kelly and North Country Elementary. This program brings deputies onto elementary and middle school campuses during lunchtime to interact with and mentor students. The youth in the area are introduced to law enforcement in a positive and fun environment. |

BEST BUDDIES - ANTELOPE HIGH SCHOOL |
The Best Buddies program is held weekly at Antelope High School during the school year. This program allows both Antelope High students and deputies to mentor students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. |
Best Buddies met during Antelope High School's Homecoming game and participated in a parade. It was a fun way to get together with friends! |

Deputies attended a match party at Center High School! Students received new shirts, and met their newly matched Best Buddy! |

FLORIN LAW ACADEMY MENTORING PROGRAM |
|
Deputies participated in the Florin Law Academy mentoring program. The goal of the mentor program is to increase diversity in the legal profession by providing education, training, and opportunities to low-income, at-risk students.
Sheriff staff help students develop leadership and job skills while providing them with a platform to learn about and explore rewarding career opportunities in public service and the legal industry.
Over the years, the mentor program has helped hundreds of students create and pursue their college and career goals. Mentors range from crime analysts officers, record officers, deputies, dispatchers, sergeants, and captains.

YSU attended the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Walk on Wheels event in effort to help fight drunk driving and support victims. |

COUNCIL FOR YOUNG MEN & GIRLS CIRCLE |
Every Tuesday, at Barrett Ranch Elementary, deputies host a Girls Circle and a Council for Young Men group.
Deputies facilitate many different topics such as self-respect, bullying, resisting peer pressure, and much more.

Twice a month, deputies help facilitate the Youth Leadership Council (YLC). YLC is a program designed to help develop and strengthen leadership skills. SAL would like to thank YLC students for assisting with the Sheriff's Office Trunk-or-Treat event. They put together the Haunted House!
YLC students will begin to organize holiday events such as Shop with a Cop (SWAC).

Bigs with Badges is a one-to-one mentoring program that connects youth with law enforcement and other first responders to build lasting relationships. The program gives underprivileged children the opportunity and tools to realize their potential, build their future, and evolve into confident, responsible adults. |

The S.H.O.C.K. program takes on a leadership role by partnering with community-based organizations, local businesses, and other youth-serving agencies to reach out to those youth considered at-risk for making poor choices in their lives.
Chronic absenteeism, continuous disruption to classroom learning, signs of experimentation with drugs and/or alcohol, as well as involvement with the gang lifestyle are considered behaviors that could lead to devastating life-long consequences.
This program is designed to:
- Redirect negative behavior
- Provide partnerships with law enforcement, the community, and schools
- Increase understanding of the criminal justice system
- Emphasize the legal consequences of violating the law

S.H.O.C.K. is a structured program that provides juveniles with incentives, team building activities, and motivates them through positive reinforcement.
