Funders' Report
Summer 2019
Summer is in full swing here at Dogs for Better Lives! Wildflowers blanket the hills behind the training facility and future Assistance Dogs are busy learning all the skills they'll need to help their new partners lead safer and more independent lives. Here's just a few things happening around the campus...
All Dogs Now Placed at NO Charge to Clients!
At DBL, we’ve always been committed to providing Assistance Dogs to those who need them most, regardless of income level or ability to pay. Historically, we’ve required a one-time $50 application fee and a $500 deposit, returned after one year of successful placement. This is in stark contrast to many programs that charge $17,000 to $30,000 for Assistance Dogs or require their clients to fundraise for the cost of the dog. We’re excited to announce that as of April 2019, we have eliminated the application fee and deposit. That’s right! All DBL Assistance Dogs are now placed at zero cost to clients . This was made possible only through the support of our individual, corporate, and foundation sponsors.
Our New & Improved Website
The DBL website has been completely updated! It's now easier than ever to navigate and more intuitive for clients, volunteers, and donors.

Please visit www.dogsforbetterlives.org to check it out. You'll find FAQs, heartwarming success stories, application forms, information on how to donate or volunteer, and much more!
In the Spotlight...
Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does
The Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does (BPO Does) is a national organization dedicated to patriotism, charity, loyalty, and love. In June, hundreds of Does gathered in Oklahoma City for their annual convention. We were thrilled to be in attendance (along with Demo Dog Faustine), meeting many of the women who have supported DBL over the years and letting them know just what an impact they're making on the lives of children with autism and adults with hearing loss. The Does presented DBL with a check for $15,000 to support our Autism Assistance Program, bringing their total giving to more than $500,000! A big thanks to the BPO Does from everyone here at Dogs for Better Lives.
