Stay Home Order Lifted - Marin Now in Purple Tier
|
|
The surge in COVID-19 across the Bay Area is showing signs of slowing, leading the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to lift the regional stay-home order for the Bay Area and statewide, effective January 25. This means some business are allowed to operate indoors, as well as outdoors, within the health & safety restrictions of the State's Purple Tier (widespread).
“Everyone has been making sacrifices to bring this surge under control, and it’s paying off,” said Dr. Matt Willis, Marin County Public Health Officer. “As we move back into the purple tier, it’s critical to remember the virus is still very active in our community. We could easily backslide if we let our guard down.”

Novato Passes
"Rent Freeze" Ordinance
At their Tuesday night meeting, the Novato City Council unanimously adopted an urgency ordinance that will temporarily prohibit rent increases for tenants residing in certain residential units and in specific census tracts in Novato.
The rent freeze ordinance is designed to support the long-term recovery of those most disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, lower the risk of displacement through eviction, and limit the accumulation of debt related to COVID-19.
The ordinance will take effect on February 1, 2021 and expire on December 31, 2021.

- Wear a face covering when out in public spaces.
- Maintain 6 feet distance from those outside of your own household.
