City Council to Discuss Next Steps Regarding County's Potential Purchase of Inn Marin
On October 27, the Novato City Council received a presentation from Marin County staff regarding their intent to purchase Inn Marin located at 250 Entrada Drive, Novato (APN: 160-161-21) to potentially house local unsheltered residents through the State of California’s Homekey Program.
While the County’s process in applying for this program did not include the City’s vetting of this project and the Novato City Council does not have the authority to vet it through the City’s normal land use process, the City Council is committed to hearing from our community on this potential program. In anticipation of the County's continued negotiation with the property owner, the following City Council meetings have been scheduled to discuss and consider potential next steps:
City Council Special Meeting - Closed Session
Friday, November 6 at 3pm
City Council Meeting - Open Session
Tuesday, November 10 at 6pm

Downtown Novato Weekend Street Closure Update
|
|
The City and Downtown Novato Business Association (DNBA) are pleased to announce that our closed streets program in Downtown will continue on weekends through November 22! Please note that the street closure is dependent on weather so be sure to check the DNBA Facebook page for updates each Friday.
Since launching in June, this successful program has allowed our community to enjoy pedestrian-friendly, socially-distanced shopping and dining on Grant Avenue every weekend while adhering to County Public Health Orders.
City staff is currently working to help restaurants continue distanced dining in a new way while also still maintaining access to parking and allowing the street to remain open to vehicles.
We truly enjoy seeing our community come together to support our local businesses, and we hope you #shoplocal this holiday season!

Similarities and Differences between Flu and COVID-19
Both COVID-19 and flu can have varying degrees of signs and symptoms, ranging from no symptoms (asymptomatic) to severe symptoms.
Common symptoms that COVID-19 and flu share include:
- Fever or feeling feverish/chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue (tiredness)
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle pain or body aches
- Headache
- Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults
COVID-19 seems to cause more serious illnesses in some people. Other signs and symptoms of COVID-19, different from flu, may include change in or loss of taste or smell.
To mitigate the risks of COVID-19, the flu vaccine is available in new ways, including no appointment drive-thru and during normal doctor visits. Get a flu shot at a location near you. Find flu vaccinations locations near you at marinflu.org.

- Wear a face covering when out in public spaces.
- Maintain 6 feet distance from those outside of your own household.
