A Message from City Manager Adam McGill:
Weekends on Grant

Weekends on Grant just got better! We've expanded outdoor dining  and shopping  in Downtown Novato by closing Grant Avenue between Reichert and Machin to create pedestrian-only access  beginning Friday afternoons through Sunday evenings.

This is a pilot street closure program to help make outdoor dining and retail safer and easier for our businesses and community. For this program to succeed, we ask that you please do your part by:
  • Wearing a face covering when out in public spaces-this includes while walking Downtown and when waiting in line outdoors, per Marin County's Order.
  • Keeping 6ft distance from others outside of your own household.
  • Staying home if you are feeling sick and avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
  • Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available. Many Downtown restaurants and shops have hand sanitizer available, but it is also a good idea to bring your own.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we continue to adapt to this new normal.

See you Downtown!

Stay Healthy Novato
The best way to reduce the risk of becoming infected with a respiratory virus, whether the flu or coronavirus, is to practice good hygiene:
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or crook of your elbow (not your hands). If you use a tissue, throw it away and wash your hands afterward.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
