As we approach the month of November and the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to the Women’s Fund supporters, donors, and volunteers.
Philanthropy is about time, talents, and treasure. In these past couple months, we have demonstrated all of these. Monetary gifts are of course always important, as they help us do the core of our work – provide grants and both support and conduct research. But time and treasure are sometimes overlooked. Each month, we have a group of individuals that give their time and professional talents to advance our work. With our small size, the work we do would not be possible without them. In the past couple of months, we were involved with two projects in which we provided both financial support and sweat equity. These included the Read Elementary Playground Women’s Build and packaging diapers at Jake’s Network of Hope for local nonprofits to distribute into the community. Our Women’s Fund volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work with a smile!
A few opportunities remain in 2023 to continue our work in advancing our parenting initiative. Join us for a panel discussion educating parents, families, and the community on the dangers of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. See below for more information.
Before the year comes to a close, I encourage you to think about your time, talents, and treasures and how you can use them for good. Please consider a gift to the Women's Fund. Whether it is appreciated stock, a required minimum distribution, or your annual planned philanthropic giving, I invite you to give us a call to explore your best options.
