The members and editorial team of LU Perspectives join the entire Lincoln University community to celebrate the reaffirmation of our business programs by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The program’s accreditation, approved by the council’s Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners, will remain in effect for the next 10 years.
Last year, as we prepared for the reaffirmation visit by the council’s Board of Commissioners, we were not able to issue our weekly newsletter given the enormity of the task at hand and our statutory obligations to the university vis a vis teaching and research. We apologize to our readers for the abrupt stoppage in publication, and we promise that we will always inform our readers whenever we encounter a major hindrance that may affect our weekly newsletter publication.
Our focus on the reaffirmation paid off, with all our programs reaffirmed for another ten years. As stated succinctly by Lincoln University President John B. Moseley, “The successful reaffirmation of our ACBSP accreditation reflects our faculty and staff’s dedication to providing the highest academic experience for our Lincoln business students.” Dr. Moseley further stated, “This recognition proves our commitment to preparing our business graduates for success, and I want to thank our faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication to maintaining this recognition.”
The leadership provided by all stakeholders was crucial towards achieving this successful outcome, and the ACBSP council’s reaffirmation validates our commitment to excellence at the LU School of Business. Together, we were able to secure reaffirmation for the following Lincoln degree programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
- Bachelor of Science in Marketing
- Master of Business Administration with Emphasis in Accounting
- Master of Business Administration with Emphasis in Agribusiness
- Master of Business Administration with Emphasis in Management
- Master of Business Administration with Emphasis in Management Information Systems
In higher education, accreditation is an essential component of a school’s educational program and standing. The ACBSP reaccreditation process focuses on recognizing teaching excellence, student learning outcomes, and a continuous improvement model. The ACBSP reaffirmation process validates the quality of our degree offerings at the LU School of Business and further solidifies our reputation as a center of excellence.
On the heels of our reaffirmation success, our newsletter will become a biweekly newsletter highlighting some of the critical business, economics, and philosophical issues that we face here in Missouri, across the country, and around the world. We look forward to tackling current issues such as tariffs, trade agreements, quotas, and emerging economies like the BRICS.
We wish our readers a fabulous 2025 and look forward to a robust engagement in the new year.
