Welcome to the LU School of Business’s Perspectives newsletter, where we will be bringing you contemporary and evidence-based business perspectives from our faculty. The goal of Perspectives is to maintain academic rigor while still making our informed opinion an easy read for a non-academic audience.
In a post-COVID-19 world and with the attendant global supply chain disruptions that followed, the views of business professors and scholar–practitioners have become even more significant. This is exacerbated by the war in Ukraine and the Israeli–Gaza War, which has worsened global supply chain troubles. Our views as business faculty have never been more crucial towards providing practical and applicable business perspectives. Amid all these global challenges, our climate risks, healthcare accessibility, and creating equal opportunities for all through intentionality still require our scholarly attention.
Here at home in the state of Missouri, our perspectives are needed in tackling the challenges that the state faces. Workforce development challenges, rising crime, especially in the urban areas of St. Louis and Kansas City, inadequate childcare facilities, and affordable housing. The underlying causes of these issues are better understood and explained through evidence-based perspectives. The LU School of Business is committed to being a leader in applied business research and a solution provider in the areas of business, management and entrepreneurship within the Midwest region and across the nation.
