Insurance Updates
Lockton has added an easy "pay my bill" link for easy insurance policy renewals. "Participants of our insurance program will still receive their yearly invoices however, we made it easier for members to renew their insurance policy invoices online" says Asst VP, Joe Perkins of Lockton.

5 Ways to be a Great Handyman
It takes more than technical skill to really be a successful handyman professional. In order to win over customers, and then keep them as loyal ones, you need to go above and beyond the typical call of duty. Elevate your handyman business from good to great by following these suggestions:
- Anticipate needs. Don't wait for your customers to call you. Build up an email list where you can advertise seasonal services, like winterizing a home or switching out window screens before the summer, to remind your customers that they need your help.
- Do what you say you will do. Be on time. Give a realistic cost estimate and do your best to stick with it. Finish on the timeline you present upfront. Follow through as best as you can on every project and your customers will come back to you.
- Put it in writing. Not only does writing down the exact terms of what you will provide, and what you will be paid, protect you but it also gives customers something to rely on. By having easy-to-follow customer agreements, you will come across as honest and straightforward - something customers value.
- Know your limits. If there is a task you don't know how to do, or you aren't licensed to do, just say "no" to the project. Customers will value your honesty and appreciate that you didn't try to take on a task you could not complete.
- Believe in what you do. Remember that you are providing an affordable service to your customers and that makes their lives better. Be enthusiastic about how you earn your living and that energy will spread to your customers, too.
Don't just strive to be a good handyman professional; try to be the best. With some focus, you will appear as the clear leader in your field and customers will want to hire you time and again.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?
|
Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
