Stockton Open House Draws About 1,500 Attendees

Stockton University welcomed about 1,500 prospective students and their families to its fall Open House on Oct. 17, offering an opportunity to explore academic programs, tour campus and experience life as an Osprey.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors toured the Galloway campus with student Admissions Ambassadors—including the new Richard E. Bjork Library & Learning Commons, explored campus housing options and participated in Discover Your Major sessions highlighting Stockton's academic programs, career opportunities and dual-degree options.

"This scholarship has made it possible for me to continue focusing on my education at Stockton University without having to worry as much about the financial burden of college. It has allowed me to put more time and energy into my classes, community service, and involvement on campus. Because of this support, I have been able to stay involved in the Honors College, participate in service opportunities, and work toward my goal of becoming a teacher."

New, Dedicated Archaeology Lab Unearths Opportunities

A new, dedicated lab space and storage room that opened in September will go a long way toward putting Stockton University’s Archaeology program “on the map in South Jersey.”

“Private donors and collection holders are much more likely and willing to collaborate with places like Stockton now when they know they have a safe, secure and respectable place to give or loan those materials to,” Archaeology Professor Bobbi Hornbeck said. “I want to encourage people in South Jersey to start to identify Stockton as an archaeological space that can be called upon.”
