McGeorge International

News from the International Board of Advisors’ Action Committee

It is with great pleasure that we write to let you know of our progress contacting and bringing together some of McGeorge’s so-called “lost alumni” back to our community. We have been quite lucky to get the support of two young alumni, Dariia Zhestovskaia '24 and Muhammed Yakup Altun '24, to work on connecting alumni through the LinkedIn platform. We are now trying to bring all alumni and friends of McGeorge who practice internationally or want to support McGeorge’s international mission to participate in the group, “McGeorge / LLM & International Alumni.” Please use this link if you are interested in joining: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/6957047/.

Also, if you have an additional minute, you could complete the form in the link below so that McGeorge can make sure that you receive all the information an alumni needs (🔗 https://mcgeorgegraduatelaw.wufoo.com/forms/qa640gj16lr11q/).

We would love to make sure that all alumni know about McGeorge and its vibrant alumni community from around the world.

All the best,

The Action Committee

How to support McGeorge School of Law

As we start a new academic year and welcome the newest class of students starting their journey or growing their careers at McGeorge, we look forward to the impact they will have as the next generation of legal professionals. We continue to work every day to deliver the best, student supportive, practice-focused, rigorous legal education in this country, and with your help we can ensure our students continue to receive the high-quality education they deserve.

We would like to encourage you to invest in our students by generously making a gift in support of our school and students. Three great options available to support are the Global Center for Business & Development, scholarships for students, and international student aid.

Global Center for Business & Development Support

Dean Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker Global Center Endowment

  • Supports the work of the Global Center, including stipends and fellowships for law students working abroad, as well as programs and symposia of the Center.

Scholarships

Emil Schnellbacher Memorial Scholarship

  • Supports LLM students in the Transnational Business Practice Program. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated interest in German or Austrian affairs or who are involved with public agencies.

Professor Stephen McCaffrey Scholarship for Water and Environmental Law

  • Supports students enrolled in the Water and Environmental Law Program's Domestic and International Water Law LLM or JSD programs.

European Programs Endowed Scholarship

  • Supports LLM students in the Transnational Business Practice Program.

International Programs Fund Scholarship

  • Students from Asian countries, of Asian or Asian-American origin, or students engaged in an Asia-Pacific law project while enrolled in one of McGeorge's LLM programs.

Professor Claude D. Rohwer Vietnam Endowed Award

  • Supports students and recent graduates pursuing international placements both pre- and post-graduation. A preference for placements in Vietnam or the Pacific Rim countries, but not exclusive to these areas.

International Student Aid

International Student Hospitality Program

  • Established to support students from outside the U.S by providing food and household items students need during their stay in Sacramento while pursuing a degree at McGeorge.

If you would like to make a gift in support of any of the above areas, you may use our secure online giving portal at alumni.mcgeorge.edu/makeagift

Giving to support any of these areas speaks volumes about your confidence in McGeorge’s mission and our continuing momentum in pursuing excellence in legal education. If you would like more details on any of the above areas of support, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.

Thank you for being a part of the McGeorge School of Law family.
