With the holidays around the corner, how much thought are we giving to our health amidst the enticing cuisine and cheer around us during the holidays and still remain mindful of our remarkable "personal machine"… our body!  Call it a taste of wellness or conscious eating, but staying on track throughout the holiday season needs to be steadfast and stay the course . Family gatherings, holiday parties, trips, cruises…. they're all wonderful and yes , we should allow ourselves to indulge, but do we know when to slow down or hit pause? While entertaining or being entertained it is our responsibility to know our limits and be conscious of our health as we get swept up in the holiday season when it comes to eating....... So here's some "food for thought!

THE MAGIC OF GRATITUDE  
I have always believed that when you come from a place of gratitude, positive things just magically happen. That doesn’t mean that life will be perfect, yet it does mean that you will spend more time feeling happy and less time feeling negative or down. It’s easy to find flaws and imperfection in just about any action, anything or any person. Yet if we turn it around and focus on the positive and genuinely take a moment to be grateful for what is before us, great feelings exude! It’s all cyclical, one action creates a feeling and a reaction and you pass it along and pay it forwar d.

Laura Martinez, Director of Spa,

Inspired by the entrepreneurial background in the Fitness and Wellness Industry at young age and an accomplished career as Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, Laura was introduced to the Five-Star hospitality industry in the year 2000, hired as fitness instructor and quickly developing in a leadership role for the Recreation Department. Laura developed her expertise in the Spa Industry as Spa Manager and Spa Director at premier luxury spa properties in the Miami area such as Turnberry Isles Resort & Spa, Trump International Beach Resort, InterContinental Miami, The Ritz Carlton, The Delano, and Red Door Day Spa by Elizabeth Arden.

I often get asked the question, “Where did you get the idea to start your company?” When people ask me that, I feel it’s hard to give a simple answer because it probably requires a longer answer than they want to hear in casual conversation. While on some level there is a simple answer to the question, there is a deeper and more personal reason I started Hyperice. Before I invented the device that I would name my company after, I did have a larger vision for what kind of brand I wanted to create. This vision was based on a common goal that I shared with the professional athletes I was coming into contact with. I wanted something as bad as they did- albeit for a different reason. But what was it? What did we ultimately want? Wait, let’s back up a second… 
I hit the lottery by being born and raised in a coastal town in Southern California where you could play sports and be active year round. I started playing multiple sports at a young age and had little interest for school - like most creative people I know. I played high school basketball and baseball and continued to play the latter avidly during my college years and throughout my 20’s.

FSA united with FIBO USA 2019 in Miami - Oct 17th
FIBO was an amazing experience and hosted many diverse vendors in the fitness, club and spa space. We met new unique and relevant suppliers that offer up new products that speak to our industry with focus on fitness and wellness.  FIBO also held continuing education sessions and engaging workouts, open to all attendees. The workouts were exhilarating: whether rocking to "Pound" the fitness drum-based workout class, cross fit movements, testing out fitness equipment or partaking in other experiential activities, it was all heart-pounding!


 The new arrival of FIBO is here to stay and the FSA looks forward to an exciting partnership as FIBO grows within the USA and becomes an industry "MUST "!
