CHAMBER NEWS & HAPPENINGS
A note to our members from BVCC President & CEO, Jeannie Hebert:

A call to action regarding the Solvency Tax being assessed to businesses to alleviate the UI trust deficit.

Please let your legislators know that it is unfair to expect MA businesses to be responsible for this payment. The proposed amortization over 20 years only prolongs this payment responsibility for current and future businesses. Other states have used CARES Act funding to fill the gap. Propose that 2 billion in CARES funds be used for the purpose of reducing the projected UI deficit total of 7 billion dollars. Small business must not be held responsible!
MEMBER NEWS & HAPPENINGS
ECONOMIC & COVID UPDATES
The WooSox are one of the first Triple-A teams in the country to offer vaccines to their fans during games, and we are doing so in partnership with the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center and UMass Memorial Health at every WooSox home game this week through Sunday, June 6.

We are offering a free General Admission ticket and WooSox cap to any fan who shows up at the ballpark seeking a vaccine, and we will have 50 Johnson & Johnson vaccines available on a first-come, first-served basis at every game this week. If you know of any people who would like the vaccine, but could use transportation, please let us know and we will see what we can provide.

More information can be found through the link I provided, but please feel free to spread the word to anyone you know who would like to get vaccinated and enjoy a game at Polar Park.
