Sandra Marin Ruiz, Ed.D., regional director of the Florida SBDC at FAU, has been appointed an additional role as assistant vice president of the newly formed Innovation and Business Development unit at the Division of Research, FAU. With her expertise in creating innovation ecosystems in both Latin America and the Midwest, Marin Ruiz will lead the collaboration between the Florida SBDC at FAU, FAU Wave, FAU Tech Runway, The Office of Technology Development, and the strategic partners in the local community. Together, this team of professionals will focus their attention on those innovative researchers and business owners accessing FAU services in support of FAU's mission as a leader in affecting the vibrant growth of the local economy.

Analysis of opportunities of business credit underwriting with commercial credit and complex commercial lending of all types, including asset-based loans.
- Consulting of lending regulations, policies and practices
- Preparation, analysis and evaluation of credit relationships with multiple financial and investment entities, approved local financial institutions that participate in asset-based lending practices; as well as, insured receivables financing, with public or private risk insurance mitigation
