Dear CFCE Families,

Today we celebrate Earth Day. Included in this newsletter are a number of activities designed to help you and your family discover the joy of spending time connecting to nature.

Using a few items from around your house and in your back yard, create this bird feeder. Enjoy hours of fun watching the birds come to eat!
Place dirt and a seed in a clear plastic baggie for your very own miniature greenhouse and watch your plant grow and grow.
Learn about artist John Dyer's project, Last Chance To Paint and his belief that there are positive things we can do for the planet. His work connects children to nature and indigenous cultures through art and music.

Learn the basics of how to be a Jr. Scientist by learning about the scientific method, a logical process for solving problems.

Turn dirty water into clean water by passing it through a filter and study the science of permeability.

Create your own wind-powered car out of items in your house and perform tests and measure the results.

Kids discover at home that oil and water don't mix. This hands-on science experiment is fun and messy.

BOSTON (WHDH) - Gov. Charlie Baker on Tuesday announced that all public and private schools in Massachusetts will be closed for the rest of the school year due to the  ongoing coronavirus pandemic .
All school districts will continue on with remote learning for the remainder of the school year to prevent the further spread of the highly contagious virus.
Tax Day Now July 15
On March 20, 2020, Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin announced that Tax Day has been moved from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties, regardless of the amount owed.

The Treasury Secretary encouraged taxpayers who might have a tax refund to file now to receive your refund.
