CPH partners with Pitt-Johnstown Nursing, JHA for blood pressure screenings

The partnership between the Center for Population Health (CPH), Pitt-Johnstown Nursing Program, Johnstown Housing Authority (JHA), and Conemaugh Health System's Family Medical Center this fall has been a major success.

The nursing students visited JHA's Connor Tower, Vine Street Tower, Town House Tower, and Loughner Plaza for 6 different blood pressure screening sessions.

During the sessions, the students not only provided blood pressure screenings, they also spoke with the residents about health and wellness.

Approximately 124 screenings were done.

Conemaugh's Family Medical Center residents have been attending some of the sessions to provide answers to medical questions that attendees may have.

Hygiene bags were also given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The most recent session on November 20 included individuals from a variety of front-line professions in Cambria and Somerset counties receiving the training
